In June 2014, the CPBT - Clube Português do Barbado da Terceira was born in June 2014, with its headquarters in Barreiro.

As the Barbado da Terceira is a breed that is in great growth outside its home, there was a need to create an organization that can give the necessary support to the continued growth and dissemination of Barbado da Terceira not only in Portugal but also across borders. In this sense, the CPBT aims to provide continuity and support to all actions that, in a positive and constructive way, involve and publicize Barbado da Terceira. The CPBT also intends to support and collaborate with breeders, owners and sympathizers of the breed, as they see fit, as well as with other entities/institutions interested in the breed.
